CANTON  Lake senior Aubrey Rossano is one of three new recruits who have committed to join the Malone women’s golf program this fall.

Rossano, along with Lake Center Christian senior Madison Justice, is part of a six-person recruiting class that will join head coach Bill Eddins’ roster for the coming season. Along with Rossano and Justice, Kristina Boyle (Bowling Springs HS/Bowling Springs, Pa.), Emily Kean (Carrollton HS/Carrollton), Grace Bartlow (Carrollton HS/Carrollton) and Samantha Tinsley (Lisbon David Anderson/Lisbon) round out the recruiting class for the Pioneers.

"We are really excited to have Nina, Emily and Aubrey join our Malone family," Eddins said. "These are outstanding young ladies and they each come from fantastic families. They will come in ready to work hard and improve and fit right in with our team."

Rossano was a four-year member of the Lake golf program. She earned numerous honors and awards during her prep career, including being named Second Team All-Federal League and Honorable Mention All-Northeast Ohio. She was also a two-time Honorable Mention All-Stark County choice and was selected for Lake’s Coach’s Award and Most Improved Player Award. She plans to major in education and minor in coaching at Malone.

The Pioneers finished fourth last fall at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Fall Preview tournament and won the four-team Rossin Memorial Tournament hosted at Southgate Golf Course in Washington, Pa. Eddins is in his second season at Malone and looks at the incoming recruiting class as group capable of pushing the program forward to the next step in its development.

The former teacher worked in the Louisville, Marlington and West Branch districts, along with a stint with Lake Local Schools, giving him a link to Rossano.

"This is an exciting time for Malone and our golf program as we are upgrading our facilities and expanding our roster," Eddins said. "We are really pleased to have a 2018-19 recruiting class of six incredible young ladies with outstanding character, talent and passion for golf joining our program."
