Christina Webber, a 2008 Hoover graduate, is pursuing her Ph.D. in biomedical sciences with a specialization in biomedical engineering and physiology in the Mayo Graduate School at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Webber earned a master’s in science from the University of Akron in biomedical engineering and a bachelor’s of science in bioengineering from Penn State University. In preparation for research required for her Ph.D., Webber has been rotating through different research labs, so far working with a project evaluating the performance of a prosthetic foot and one on individuals using manual wheelchairs and the prevalence of shoulder pain. Webber is involved with an outreach organization that works with local schools inspiring students to pursue math and science. She is pictured above, in July, with bronze statues of the Mayo brothers, Dr. Will and Dr. Charlie, founders of the Mayo Clinic. Photo courtesy of the Webber family.
