Wishes Can Happen provided Brooke Crown with an American Girl-themed trip.
Wishes Can Happen helped a special little girl celebrate her sixth birthday in a big way.
Brooke Crown was treated to a day at The American Girl Place, complete with a visit to the hair salon, a photo shoot, shopping and a special birthday lunch. Brooke’s mother Melinda, brother Aidan, and grandmother Kathy Walsh, accompanied her on the excursion to Chicago.
Brooke’s adventure began with a donated limousine ride to the Cleveland airport by Thomas Limousine. Wishes Can Happen covers all trip expenses and seeks donations in order to give the wish children as much as possible.
“Our goal is to bring joy, hope and inspiration to children and their families by making their wish come true. It is our intention to provide them with a carefree, worry-free experience and to create happy, new memories for the family in the process.” said Lisa Marshall, a volunteer with Wishes Can Happen who coordinated Brooke’s wish.
Melinda posted on her blog, “I can not tell you how amazing and generous Wishes Can Happen truly is! It was awesome!”
Brooke has Chiari 1 Malformation, a complex group of disorders characterized by herniation of the cerebellum through the large opening in the base of the skull into the spinal cord. She has had several surgeries and may face more. She undergoes tests every six months. Brooke wears a neck collar most of the day.
Wishes Can Happen is celebrating 30 years of making dreams come true for children (ages 3-21) with life-threatening illnesses. For more information, visit www.wishescanhappen.com.
