  • Church to Hold Community Dinner and Puppet Show

  • Grace United Methodist Church will hold a Spring Community Dinner and annual Puppets of Grace program on Sunday, May 20. The church is located at 1720 Schneider Street NW.
    Members of the church supply the dinner and non-members are invited to attend the dinner and show. Dinner will be at 5:15 p.m. and the show will begin at 7 p.m.
    The Puppets of Grace have been have been in existence since 1995. The team is comprised of 15-20 youth and about 6 -8 adults. The shows are upbeat and musical, sending their message of Christ to the audience. A show usually consists of 6-8 puppet songs (Christian parodies of popular songs) as well as in-house talent of the puppeteers between the puppet numbers.
    The Puppets of Grace have attended many competitions and have consistently won Gold Awards for Excellence. Diane and Lee Spencer are the founding directors of the team.
    Early arrival is suggested as this program usually attracts a standing-room only audience.
    The program is free but a love offering will be taken to help defray expenses and the cost of equipment .
