A twelfth church has joined eleven other area churches in the Habitat for Humanity Apostles Build 2012 program.
An Apostles Build is when twelve churches join to build two new homes. The twelfth church, Love Canton, is located in the area where the homes will be built on Sandal Place in Canton.
“This group will bring a wonderful dynamic to this build as their members live in and around the area we will be working. God is so good and as I look at the list of churches I am in awe of how He has put this all together so perfectly. Let the building begin,” said Beth Lechner, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Stark and Carroll Counties.
An official ground-breaking ceremony will be held at the future home sites at 918 and 914 Sandal Place NE, Canton on Saturday, May 5 at 10 a.m.
There will be a shovel for each of the 12 churches involved in the ceremony and each church has been asked to designate one or two diggers at the event.
“We would love to have as much representation from each church as possible,” Rev. Don Richards of Grace United Methodist Church, group spokesman, said.“If your church would like to make a banner, sign or anything else to show your excitement for this event that will be welcomed.” Questions or more information is available from Richards at 330- 499-2330.
The churches involved in Apostles Build 2012 are: Christ the Servant Parish, Community Christian Church, Faith United Methodist Church, Grace United Methodist Church, High Mill Church of the Resurrection, Love Canton, North Canton Church of Christ, St. Jacobs Community Church, St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Trinity Baptist Church and Zion United Church of Christ.
