NORTH CANTON  Hoover senior Emmett Caskey was one of two Hoover boys golfers to finalize their college commitments on national signing day, inking his National Letter of Intent with Gannon University.

Caskey and teammate Brandon Obermiller each signed their letter of intent, giving the Vikings two more former golfers who will have earned a chance to play at the next level. As a senior, Caskey posted three top-1o finishes in 18-hole tournaments, including  fifth-place finish at the Midwest Prep Invitational in New York.

For his efforts, Caskey was named first team All-Stark County and second team All-Northeast Ohio. Off the course, he earned academic All-Ohio honors.

With a nine-hole scoring average of 39.9 and an 18-hole scoring average of 80.4, Caskey was among the Federal League’s most consistent golfers this past season.
