NORTH CANTON  Hoover High School senior swimmer Annie Lochridge signed her National Letter of Intent with the University of Akron earlier this month, adding another accomplishment to her successful career.

Lochride holds several school records at Hoover and lettered each of her first three seasons of high school swimming. She has competed for the North Canton YMCA at the local and national level and qualified for the Division I state championship meet for Hoover each of the past two seasons.

She competes in the 100 breaststroke, 200 and 400 individual medley and as a member of the 400-meter relay team. Recently, Lochridge was selected as one of 20 athletes to attend the National YMCA Swimming Leadership Development Camp and away from the pool, she is an honor student and recently completed her Girl Scout Gold Award. 

Lochridge was joined for her signing by her parents, Marshall and Lori Lochridge, along with other family members, friends, coaches and teammates.
