Charlestown Township Park will be the location of Trunk or Treat on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Residents are asked to have their car in place by 1:30 p.m. and decorated by 2 p.m. There will be a prize for the best decorated trunk, so get creative!
Along with going trunk to trunk, there will be lots of fun for the kids. There will be the BOO! Walk (a path through the woods where friendly costumed characters will hand out candy and little prizes), a Halloween themed background for a great photo op and free hot dogs, chips and hot chocolate for everyone! So please join in the fun! If you have any questions, call 330-296-7573.
The Charlestown United Methodist Church is hosting a "Soup and Salad Sunday" on Nov. 11. We will begin with Pastor Greg delivering an inspiring message on humility at 10:30 a.m. Immediately following will be a complimentary lunch of three different homemade soups, salad, bread and, of course, desserts. If you’ve seen our beautiful little church and have been wanting to come, if you have attended in the past, or if you’ve just missed a few Sundays, now is the time to come! All are welcome!
We have just received word from the North Pole that Santa Claus will be making a special stop in Charlestown Township on Dec. 8. If you would like to have Santa make a stop at your home to surprise your child/children with a special gift, this is what you need to do.
Bring a gift of your choice, wrapped and clearly marked with your child’s name, the delivery address (must be in Charlestown Township) and a phone number to the Charlestown Fire Department on Nov. 26 or Dec. 3 between 6:30 and 8 p.m. We are unable to schedule a specific time for deliveries, however, deliveries will be made between 5 and 7 p.m. Santa will arrive in the firetruck with lights flashing and sirens blaring. This is a free event sponsored by the activity committee and the volunteer fire department. Questions? Call 330-296-7573.
Just a reminder, Election Day is Nov. 6. The polls are open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. So get out there and exercise your right to vote.
