ORRVILLE — The Orrville Rib and Music Fest will have a new layout this year. The changes include moving of the main stage, cruise-in location and the addition of bleachers.

The committees hope with these new changes and additions it will allow festival attendees to feel as though it is one large event verses three small events. The changes are the result of feedback from community members.

The main stage will now be located in the parking lot on Market Street between Heather’s Studio and the Railroad tracks. Moving the stage will allow those enjoying ribs and other food in the vending area to hear the entertainment. Whether it is the winner of the 50/50 drawing, car show winners, rib awards or nightly entertainment. The hope is that no matter where you are sitting or standing in the festival area, you will hear what is happening on stage.

Along with moving the stage, comes the addition of bleacher seating. The bleachers will allow a great sight-line to the stage and the lined-up chairs have been eliminated.

However, visitors can still bring chairs, but they must be set up within the area marked at the event. The goal for the bleachers addition and removing the lined-up chairs is to make it feel more like a concert setting allowing people to get closer to the action.

Another change is the location of the cruise-in. It will now be located on Market street, in front of PNC and Farmer’s National Bank on pavement. In the past, the cars have been located on the Smith Orr House lawn. Moving the car show location will allow the festival to gain more cars and attendees.
