Crews will start construction at 7 a.m. Wednesday on a drop-off lane in front of the Stark County Office Building

CANTON  A block of Market Avenue S between Tuscarawas Street E and Second Street SE will be reduced to a single northbound lane for about two months.

Crews will start construction at 7 a.m. Wednesday on a drop-off lane in front of the Stark County Office Building, 110 Central Plaza S. Motorists are asked to avoid the area when possible, according to a city news release.

The two southbound lanes of Market Avenue S will not be affected.

Stark County commissioners contracted with Lockhart Concrete of Akron for $119,000 in March. The work is expected to alleviate traffic issues caused by motorists who stop in the right lane of Market Avenue S to drop off people or deliveries.
