Green Cleaning Make & Take

Explore simple, safe, and cost-efficient alternatives to conventional cleaners from 9 to 11 a.m. May 9 during the Green Cleaning Make & Take at the Lake Township Road Department, 12360 Market Ave. N. During this hands-on workshop, multiple eco-friendly household cleaners will be produced using natural ingredients, vinegar and essential oils. Participants will create and take home product samples, as well as recipes for additional household cleansers. Create a clean home that is safe for your family, pets, and local watersheds. Planting a pollinator

If You Plant It, They Will Come: Pollinator Gardens in Your Own Backyard will be from 6-7 p.m. May 10 at Sippo Lake Park, 5712 12th St. NW, Perry Twp. During the past few years, much of the public, and even the media has become aware of the significance of insect pollinators, and the challenges they face in our rapidly changing world.  The good news is that you can positively impact these insects in your area, and afar by planting a pollinator garden this year. Mother's Day tea party

Ida Saxton McKinley Mother’s Day Tea will be from 11 a.m. May 19 at the National First Ladies Library, 205 Market Ave. S. Canton’s own First Lady Ida Saxton McKinley, her mother, Catharine Saxton; and Ida’s sister, Mary Saxton Barber, will share their personal lives in what will be an unforgettable afternoon of history. In between the stories of their fascinating lives, guests will be served a high tea at the National First Ladies Library.
