CANTON  A series of Kinder Concerts at the Cultural Center for the Arts this week offered young students from across Stark County a chance to see the Canton Symphony Orchestra perform up close.

The orchestra, led by Assistant Conductor Matthew Jenkins Jaroszewicz, performed classical pieces by Respighi, Ravel, Mozart, Mendelssohn and Beethoven to about 2,400 Stark County kids in grades pre-K through first, during four special concerts Wednesday and Thursday.

The Stark County Parks District, led by Education Programmer Amanda Perry, introduced the students to live animals native to Ohio, including the cardinal, mallard duck, American kestrel, barred owl and Eastern American toad.

The program was offered free to attendees with support from ArtsinStark, The Hoover Foundation and T. Raymond Gregory.
