NORTH CANTON  Officials have announce the city of North Canton has established a 12-month fixed-rate of $3.299 per Mcf for natural gas. The new rate will run through the November 2018 billing cycle. Residents and small commercial customers should have recieved a letter from Volunteer Energy on or about Oct. 10 which explains the rate, terms and conditions of the offer.

"We are pleased to make this rate available for our residents and small businesses," said North Canton Mayor David Held in a news release. "The fixed-rate will give them price protection and budget stability as we move into the winter months. This is the lowest rate in the history of the city's program and, as before, our program has no early termination fee."

Independent Energy Consultants President Mark Burns urged residents and business owners carefully read their letter from Volunteer.

"Residents who are currently in the program or who receive their gas supply through Dominion Energy Ohio's Standard Choice Offer will receive an 'opt-out' letter," he said in a news release. "If they wish to remain in, or be added to the program, they should simply do nothing and they will automatically receive the new rate."
