LAKE TWP.  The Lake Township Board of Trustees passed a resolution to oppose a request from Boyd Wholesale Group, doing business as Cedar Room, for a liquor license.

Trustee President Galen Stoll said the company is requesting a C1 and C2 License for its location at 13069 Cleveland Ave. NW.

"The location is dry and a liquor license would require voter approval," Stoll said.

OTHER ACTIONS:

- Authorized paying bills as of Sept. 11 in the amount of $72,631.

- Heard a proposal for a dog park from Lake Local seventh-grader Brooklyn Ury. She suggested using a park area that is no longer being used as a regular park for a dog park. Stoll thanked her for the hard work she put into her proposal and for presenting it to them. He said the area she is suggesting is in the village of Hartville and he suggested she present her idea at one of Hartville’s council meetings.

- Approved letting the road superintendent purchase two pairs of work boots per year at a maximum of $200 per pair. Stoll said the superintendent is in the field most of his works days and when he needs to meet with someone in the office, he can change out of one pair of boots and into a cleaner pair.

- Approved a salary continuation from Sept. 11 to Oct. 11 for Sgt. Dave White who was shot four times when responding to a domestic violence call on July 9.

UP NEXT: The next Board meeting is 6:30 p.m., Sept. 25 at the Township Hall.
