Get Out and Play Fest
Kids take over Historic Downtown Hartville for the Get Out and Play Fest on Saturday. More than 40 community organizations, churches and businesses come together to put on this super summer block party. The street and sidewalks are filled with games, crafts and giggles. Activities for toddlers through pre-teens include a Touch a Truck, mascot appearances, photo booth, a pop-up marke and jump rope making. Hartville Elevator’s iconic mural is scheduled to be repainted this summer and festival goers are invited to pick up a brush and help add the first coat. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Downtown shops and restaurants are open and make great cooling and refueling stops. Parking and admission are free. Saturday will be busy in downtown Canton with Christmas in July being from noon to 4 p.m. in the Canton Arts District. There will be art, live music, street performers and great food at downtown restaurants. Also, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be the Downtown Canton Flea Market along Court Avenue Northwest between Third and Sixth streets northwest. More than 50 vendors with art, crafts, antiques, handmade goods and much more.
North Park movie night
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the "The Good Dinosaur" under the stars at Jackson's North Park on July 21. Complimentary popcorn will be provided by the Jackson Township Fire Department and the Historical Society will be selling cotton candy. Movie starts at dark.
