• A Jonathan Avenue boy, 14, reported that an unknown suspect stole his bicycle at a Harmon Street location. According to the boy, he and a friend had their bikes stolen while at a third friend’s house. The total estimated value of the stolen bikes was $300 and an investigation is pending.

• Police arrested a Hoover High School student on charges of aggravated trafficking and possession of drugs on school property, both felonies. The suspect was arrested for possessing and selling a controlled substance at the school.

• A Beechwood Avenue NE woman, 45, reported that an unknown suspect threw a 2x4 piece of wood through the window of her home. An estimated $300 of damage was caused to the window, but after an investigation, no charges were filed.

• A Holl Road NE woman, 66, reported that known individuals took money from her but did not render the services promised when she paid them. A warrant was issued for the suspect’s arrest. 

• Police arrested a Canton man, 50, at a Chapel Hill Drive NE location on an outstanding warrant for disorderly conduct. The suspect was taken into custody and turned over to a sheriff’s deputy.

• Officers responded to a call regarding an irate, belligerent tenant at a North Main Street motel. The spoke with a manager, who told them the tenant came downstairs yelling about not having hot water. After being advised that the hot water tank was being repaired, the man was still upset. The man and a second man in his room said there were other issued with incomplete repairs. Police spoke again with the manager, who agreed to refund the men’s money if they left the property immediately. The men agreed and received their refund.

• A Marengo, Ohio, man, 35, reported that an unknown suspect stole his bike while he was at a Hillcrest Avenue residence. The victim old police he parked the bike in front of an apartment building, left it unlocked and when he returned an hour later, the bike was gone. An investigation is pending.

• Police arrested a Pershing Avenue NE man, 28, on charges of possession of drugs, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia and possessing drug abuse instruments. The suspect was booked into the Stark County Jail. 

• An Edgewood Street NE man, 31, reported that an unknown individual used a blunt object to break the passenger side window of his car and steal items from inside. The victim reported the theft of a leather satchel, a textbook and photographs, with a total estimated value of $430. An investigation is pending.

• A Webber Avenue woman, 78, reported receiving multiple telephone calls from an unfamiliar number, with the person on the other end threatening her but refusing to identify themselves. The woman told police she has been receiving the calls for more than an year. An investigation is pending.

• Police arrested a Glenridge Circle NE man, 29, on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was for aggravated possession of drugs and the suspect was turned over to a sheriff’s deputy. 

• Police arrested a Canadian man at an Applegrove Road location on a charge of driving while under the influence and failure to wear a seatbelt. The suspect was originally pulled over for speeding and was determined by an officer to be impaired. He was taken into custody and booked into the Stark County Jail. 

• A Canton man, 43, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of theft without consent at a Whipple Avenue business. The suspect was issued a summons to appear in Canton Municipal Court and released at the scene.

• A Canton man, 33, was arrested at a Mississippi Street location on charge of disrupting public service, unlawful restraints and assault knowingly causing harm to the victim. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Stark County Jail.

• Police arrested a Portage Street NW man, 31, at his home on a charge of having an open container of alcohol while operating or a passenger in a motor vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody, transported to a local medical facility for treatment and issued a summons to appear in Canton Municipal Court.
