LAKE TWP.  Only the second of its kind in the state of Ohio, Leslie Cassetty held a grand opening May 21 of the Shear Possibilities Mobile Salon in Hartville. It’s a five-year dream for Cassetty.

It is the first mobile salon in Stark County and only the second in the state to be approved by the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology. Cassetty is planning to use the mobile salon housed in a 38-year foot RV to travel to private homes, businesses and a variety of facilities such as independent living and local jails.

“We designed the interior of the RV into a two-station salon which is fully equipped for all hair services such as cuts, perms, color and styling, plus we can do facial waxing,” Cassetty said. “I plan to add regular manicures in the future. We’ll also be able to sell hair care products. This has been a dream of mine for a long time. The Shear Possibilities Salon will still be open to those who can get out for appointments. The mobile salon is more to help people who have difficulty going out."

Persons who lead a busy life and would like to have the salon come to them would benefit from using the mobile salon. Cassetty said that the mobile salon would be a welcome experience for those who want more privacy for a variety of reasons such as having been a victim of a particular situation and don’t want to come to a busy salon.

“I also want to start a non-profit organization so that we can help out in a variety of situations such as natural disaster areas where people want to get their hair washed and lack the resources to do so,” Cassetty said.
