Walsh University will hold a special memorial Mass and tribute luncheon honoring the life and legacy of Brother Francis Blouin at 11:30 a.m. Monday with Mass at 11:30 a.m. in the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel. A tribute kuncheon will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the Barrette Business and Community Center.
Blouin, Walsh University's third president, died at age 87 on Jan. 21 in Maine from complications of ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Blouin served as Walsh president from 1978 to 1992 where he helped grow the university's enrollment from 500 to 1,700. He was responsible for bringing five Nobel Peace Prize winners to Stark County.
