Summit County Sheriff's deputies are seeking two people suspected of stealing a woman's purse from Queen of Heaven Church in Green.

GREEN  Summit County Sheriff's deputies are seeking two suspects for stealing a purse from a parishioner at Queen of Heaven Church.

Warrants have been issued charging Raymond B. Jarvis, 53, and Michelle L. Wells, 38, both of the Uniontown area, with theft and breaking and entering.

Deputies are asking anyone with information about Jarvis and Wells to contact the Summit County sheriff at 330-643-8637.

Warrants were issued following an investigation of the Dec. 8 incident. Deputies said they were called to the church at 8:30 a.m. They determined that a 79-year-old woman's purse was taken after she left it unattended in a pew when she took Communion.

The theft was captured on surveillance cameras, deputies said. The suspects also were spotted on cameras at two nearby stores using credit cards that belonged to the victim to make purchases totaling more than $1,000. Deputies said Jarvis and Wells are suspected of committing similar offenses at other churches, including one in Iowa.
