YOUNGSTOWN  Rachel A. Hrbolich of Newton Falls has been named director of Catholic Charities for the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown. 

She succeeds Meg Andersen, who retired. 

Hrbolich will provide administrative oversight to Catholic Charities affiliate agencies in the six-county diocese. She has served Catholic Charities for 22 years, the last 13 as associate director of social services. She also managed most of the agency's internal and external communications.

A graduate of Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Hrbolich earned a master's degree from the University of Akron and completed a program on mission-based leadership and organizational development at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.

Her work has been recognized nationally by her appointment the Development and Communications Steering Committee of Catholic Charities, USA.
